finishing the second movie

yesterdays presentation was a relief! after so much work we had with getting everything done, it was nice to see people reacting to our work. it was nice to hear them laugh!
all in all it was a great experience. bob, kata and me worked well as ateam even though we are all very different. we had alot of support from bobs flatmates. nearly all of them were involeved in the work...and he has 6 flatmates!
of course bob was he main actor when it came to editing the movie but he was very attentive and explained evrything and every important step carefully to kata and me. that was important because we did not use the nero editing programm we have used with anna for our first movie, but more complex one that bob has on his computer.
yesterday i felt éike if somebody just soke up all my energy. but now that i know its over i am happy because i really like the result of our work....

we were shooting our movie for the last few days... the work went very good and we had much fun, even though everything took more time than planned! I cought a really bad cold and i feel exhausted

i hope that our movie as a whole will look good and resemble the hell of a lot of work we had with it!

the first day of shooting was great fun and good, though slow work. i think that we are good as a team. bob is teaching me and kata new things which is very interesting. for exapmle that we actually check the whithe balance before each new shot was a new thing for me.....and actually how to do it as well...

and the fact that we started planning our time way ahead makes working now very easy!

this thursday i had a meeting with bob about our storyboard. we were really productive and worked a lot on how we imagine the camera stettings and so on. thi smetting was very helpful for me because now i fell that i have the wohle movie in pictures inside my head! that makes working a lot easier!

we will start shooting on tuesday. we allocated three days for shooing, but i hope we will be done faster as we have so much other work to do!

preparing the storyboard

all i can say at this moment is that it will be a hell of a lot of work till we actually get to shoot our movie. but i am confident that we will do our best, bob is very pushy and keeps us working....i was just a bit scared when he said we will at least need 7 h of raw material .....omg. 

but i like being with kata and bob, on sunday we meet to make the final schedule and then the work can begin!!!!

preparing the 2# movie

for the second project i am together with bob and kata. i think we will be a good team and we eveb started working on the project right after class...

what makes me a bit nervous is the fact that there is very little time left for this film and we have so many other assignments to do...personally i think it would be better i the groups would be bigger, as we could share the work better. but now we have to deal with the assignament, i think it is going to be very hard....

shooting and editing our first movie

shooting the movie was far more work than i thought it would be.... it turned out that shooting on a busy place like the nugyti trainstation was very hard. people coming and going, difficulties with positioning the camera... what was also frustrating was the fact that most of the scenes had to be shooted multiple times, which was very tiering. the material that we shooted felt like being enough for a 10 minutes movie, but after editing it turned out just to be enough for 4 minutes.

editing was again not very as easy as we tought it would be... it is dissapointing that eventough we tried our best, the pictures are jumping due to the programm. the fact that the programm was shutting down several times during working with it was also very distracting....

all in ll i like our movie. anna and me were both unexperienced in this field, but we did our best i think. 

with the grade that we got i am ok with, even tough you said in the critique that you saw a movie without music...but we had music!!!! would that make the grade maybe better?

3&4th class#

during the last two weeks we really got into how to actually cut a movie. that was very intersting!

The programm is even for me easy to understand and it was fun to see how you can put together different shots and make it dynamic and a whole.

I still think that it needs much time to make real progress and improovement but i think and hope i will get to it...

for our 4 minutes movie i am working together with anna. and it is a lot of fun. our story is not something very special or unique but i think we can make it intersting. it will be a lot of work, and as we saw during making the oictures for our storyboard, it will take a lot of shots to fill those 4 minutes!!

 for the 10 minutes movie i thibk it would be intersting to have bigger groups. that would make work easier and i think that there would be more creative energy..

2#class

During the first session of video production we really started to actually make a movie. We had to get together in groups of four, to realize the storyboard we got from Phil.

at the first glanze this seemed to be a quite easy assesment BUT i think i was not easy at all!

since the storyboard was not based on our own ideas, I had no pictures in my had (as i would expect it to be if i would write my own storyboard) about how the scenes should look like.

the second thing which did make the task even harder, that the roles in the team (i was together with kata, anna and adel) were not clearly seperated and divided. everybody had his own ideas about acting and places, and wanted her own ideas to be realized.

what i learned so far is not o much about the technical backgrond of making a film but more the organisational part of it.

VIDEO PRODUCTION 1

this week was our first class of video production. i was quite impressed by our new room, the computers and the cameras! 

i have never really had the chance to learn about video production and filmmaking, but i am very excited and confident that it is going to be a lot of fun. i think i will hve a hard time learning the new programm on the computer and how to use the camera functions in the most efficient way. 

last class of website design

yesterday was the last time we had website design.

i really enjoyed this module and i had the chance to learn new things about computers, the internet as a marketing tool and design.

the discussion in the second half of the class was a bit lengthy. to be honest i am kind of sik of all the complaints over and over. i am very content with the module and all the programs. of course not everything is perfect, but i think talking about it once should do it...i hope this will change next semester.

still being part of the picture group, today we were together with bettina and evi writing the captions for the photo site of the baam page...well the task was not really interseting or exciting but it is an important part of the wohle and needs to be done. going over all the pictures we recognised that there were some people missing and of some there were to man pictures...like of myself...so evi took some of the last pictures, i think from julia, katinka and bianka.
i hope that now everybody is evenly prenst on the baam page and everybody is happy with the pictures of him/her self...

to be honest i am really impressed how far we got and how beautiful eveything looks... but nevertheless i think that some persons who apparently really have great abilities in webdesign could have worked more closely with the group instead of just creating their own baam page, which has nothing in common with our ideas at all...

today was simlar to the last weeks session. we were as a group still working on the selection of the pictures for the website. It was fun to go over them again. we actually spent a lot of good time together!
I am really impressed about everything done so far. Everybody did a good job.

todays guest lecturer was again very interesting. it is cool to have different insight views to different fields of the art. thank you phil for that!

i am in the photo group for the baam website. today was a bit difficult for me. evi is in our group and she brought her laptop in to reszise the pictures. she was doing the of the actual work, the group only helped her deciding which pictures to choose and how to cut the edges.
somehow i would would like to get more involved but since i do not have the technical skills that some of us have, i feel somehow useless....
but i think that everybody is still doinh hios best to get it all done. i like the discussiones we have in class about already existing things (e.g. the buttons). thisis wehn everybody can get involved.
i am excited to see the result!

baam website

firtsly i think that it was very interesting havin mary ann prior having in our class and talking to us about corporate art collectiones. i could really imagine going into this field myself. i would love to keep in touch with her.
in the second half of the class we had time to talk about our baam website. i like the idea of working togehter as a class on the project and the things som of us made so far are really great. at the beginning i thought it would be more difficult to keep everybody working on it, but in truth, everybody is very enthusiastic.
and i was very happy to get such a good grade on my individual assignment!

todays class started with a schock...i wanted to open my site and check it fior the last time and i had to realize that all the pictures i have inserted were gone. Tankfully i was able to fix it...but i was really nearly going crazy!
the second half was very good.. i think it will be an exciting project to create the baam website and to work together as a team. i am in the pictures group togehter with evi who will i think be a good teacher and a big help for all of us!
oh and thank you phil for being so patient with me and my problem this morning...

The general feeling of relief having one week plus to hand in the finished website wanished when i saw bobs website....i will not beable to do mine like this, or nearly like this...
the budacast guy was really nice and what he said was interesting. I will tell my friends in muich to chack it so they can get an impression on how i am living in here!
i still have some problems with my own website consearning its content....i dont konw if its is too personal and boring but on the other hand i dont know what else to put in...we will see.

And another thing i didnt thought that i would be possile to judge websites according to their design and so own but it is. i found that really interesting and i am starting to get a sense for it...

todays class was great. i didnt really realize how fast time passed...
to be honest i am now even more afraid of the week after the easter hollidays...

Setting up my first webpage

Todays class was really fun and exciting. I had the feeling that i really did something that will be usefull to complete our assignment of craeting our own website. The given instructions were clear and easy to follow. Actually im am now at a point that i am looking foreward to learn more about how website design works and how can use it for my purposes.
So what we did in detail was first of all talking about images and their szies, which is an important issue when craeting a website. Then we went on practising with the pictures we had to bring in for the class so that we could use them later while craeting the first site.
Further we talked about colours and how they appear on the screen. It was fun to experiment with the colour schemes.
At the end of the class i was really amazed that i was actually able to set up my first webpage.

as the time goes by i slowly realise that we dont really have much time left to start setting up our first website...and for the fact that i dont really konow yet hw this whole thing works i am a bit afraid of the task....

dreamweaver

Today we logged on to dreamweaver for the first time. The programm did not workk on my computer, so I had to share with Anna. It was hard for me to follow all the required steps and thik i still did not get it totally how to set up the first site of the page.
All in all i found the class quite interesting. We spoke generally about the content of a webpage, what should be in there and what not...how images and graphics can be uploaded to the net and what the requirements are to get them work.
We also talked about the navigation of a webpage and its importance. I never thought about how important that is before but it really is...Since the page that we are going to create is a marketing tool for ourselves, it seems to me that it is very important to try to make my webpage as profesional as possible. I will try.

my expectations concerning the website design module

As an future arts manager I think it will be helpfull to know about the web, websites and the fact that it is an important tool for publishing and marketing myself. Since I am not very talented with computers this class will hopefully help me to get over it.
This module will be usefull in many different ways, such as:
learning the basics of website design
understand what a blog is
set up a blog
sharing information with other people
get information
